The
Friends of Black Hill Nature Programs
was formed to support, promote, and
sustain the nature programs and
special events conducted by the
interpretive naturalist staff at Black
Hill Visitor Center.
The friends group supports many
types of family, adult and
children’s programs. Family events
include Firefly Fun, Star Search,
Rainforest Day and Bluebird Day.
Children’s programs include
Bug Day, fishing, lake exploration,
and night hikes. Adult programs
include special hikes, van and bike
tours, camps and workshops for
teachers.

Programs
are based at the Black Hill Visitor
Center at Black Hill Regional Park.
The naturalist-led programs, which
take place within the park and around
Montgomery County, are fun,
educational, and affordable.
Annual membership entitles individuals
and families to attend events just for
the friends group, such as pontoon
boat tours, kayak trips, hikes, and
staff natural history training.
